Article: My last year Big lessons

My last year Big lessons

My last year Big lessons

That year taught me something big…

We don’t get to choose the cards we’re dealt.
But we do get to choose how we play them.

For a long time, I kept thinking:
“Maybe if I had those cards… things would be fair.”
Why do some people start life with more?
Born in the “right” family.
Citizens of the “right” country.
Given access, ease, shortcuts — before they even begin.

At some point, I had to decide:
👉 Keep staring at other people’s cards, resenting what I lacked.
👉 Or… learn to play the hand I was given — with intention, creativity, and fire.

And that’s what I chose.

🖤 Among many lessons I’ve learned, here are the 3 that changed everything —

and inspired the 3 journals I created this year:

1️⃣ Your mindset is your first battlefield.

Comparison, doubt, sorrow, strength — it all starts in the same place: your mind.

I realized I was cleaning my home regularly…
but letting all kinds of trash live rent-free in my head:
Old narratives. Unquestioned beliefs. Doubts that weren’t even mine.

So I created a daily practice to clean it.
To keep my mind clear, focused, and mine.

🧠 That became the heart of
→ “Your Mind Is Your Only Home. Keep It Clean.”

2️⃣ You don’t need to delete fear — just stop letting it drive.

Next, I had to stop waiting to become fearless.

I kept trying to get rid of fear.
To earn enough confidence to finally take a step.
Until I realized… even the best leaders, musicians, speakers, parents, innovators  — they all feel it too.

The goal was never fearlessness.
The goal is movement.
To walk with it. Interpret it. Then go beyond it.

💬 That’s what inspired
→ “Delete Your Doubt.” Journal

3️⃣ Your path won’t look like anyone else’s — and that’s the point.

Finally, I had to go beyond what I thought I was “allowed” to want.
To want things no one in my family or  culture had even imagined.

I had limited cards — so I had to get creative.
Play differently. Try things I’d never seen anyone around me try.
Step into spaces I had no roadmap for.

If I kept doing what “made sense,”  I was going to stay stuck.

So I stopped waiting for permission.

I learned from the eagle — the only bird that flies into the storm and uses the pressure to rise even higher.

🦅 That’s the spirit behind
→ “SOAR.”

I wasn’t born with advantages

My family once struggled to pay $1 for school fees.

But I worked hard. I believed. I adapted.

I earned a scholarship. Moved to Europe.

Got a PhD. Became an R&D engineer.

And now? I’m still learning. Still rising. Still writing.

🖤 I created these journals to help you do the same —

not with perfect conditions,

but with the cards you’re holding right now.

So — which one speaks to you today?
✨ Choose your anchor, and I’ll send you Day 1 (free, in your inbox):

🧠 Send “MIND” or ✍️ — for Your Mind Is Your Only Home
💪 Send “BEGIN” or “💪” — for Delete Your Doubt
👍 Send “SOAR” or “👍”— for SOAR

Let’s start where you are.
Because that’s always where the real magic begins.

Which card will you play next?

🖤 — Pamela
(PhD. Engineer. Dreamer. And a woman who learned to play her cards.)
